Employers today recognize that the success of their businesses is often determined by how satisfied employees are in the workplace.  Coyle Engineering, Inc. is certainly aware of this, as well as the current competitive market for talented civil engineers and technicians.  With this awareness comes a desire to be recognized as one of San Antonio's “Best Places to Work“. 

The San Antonio Business Journal solicited and received over 150 nominations for their annual ranking, and sent their information to be evaluated in a rigorous statistics-based program to be conducted by Kansas-based research partner Quantum market Research.  Quantum contacted each employer with a password-protected survey process that allowed each employee to respond confidentially.  The questions, each given a value of 1 to 6, were broken down into 10 categories:  Team effectiveness, retention risk, alignment with goals, trust with co-workers, indivudual contribution, manager effectiveness, trust in senior leaders, feeling valued, work engagement and people practices. 

To get the score, all of the survey responses were added up and divided by the total number of questions from all surveys completed by each company.  The top 39 finalists were honored with an awards luncheon at Oak Hills Country Club, and Mike and Beth Coyle invited their entire staff to attend and hear the countdown.... cheers filled the air as CEI was named at the #2 spot for Small Business, and then as we found that we ranked #2 overall.  The top two companies were profiled in the Business Journal - to see the rankings and to read the article, please click on this link:  http://www.coyleengineering.com/Maintenance/downloads/Downloads_GetFile.aspx?id=11234
