2006 Best In Commercial Real Estate

In the June 23rd issue of the San Antonio Business Journal, the “2006 Best in Commercial Real Estate' special publication was released honoring some of the best recent developments in the San Antonio real estate market.   Mike Coyle, PE was named a “Major Player“ as the civil engineer for the Best Industrial Development:  Cornerstone Industrial Park.  This 270-acre industrial park has just recently become the focus of new construction activity with a speculative 188,000-square-foot warehouse completed last July.   Another 400,000 square feet of warehouse space is planned for this year.  Cornerstone, which is located on the east side of San Antonio in the northeast corner of Interstate 10 and Loop 410, is effectively positioned at the crossroads of all truck traffic from Mexico (NAFTA) and the I-10 traffic from California to Florida.

Nominations for this awards section were solicited from San Antonio Business Journal readers and through their web site, as well as from industry sources and reporters who cover the construction, real estate, hospitality and tourism industries.

In reviewing the projects, the following set of criteria were considered: The project, or some phase of it, had to have either been announced, begun construction, or been substantially completed in 2005.

In selecting the winners, some of the key considerations were obviously the size of the project and dollar value. Overall impact - such as the number of jobs created or the ability to attract tourists to San Antonio - also weighed heavily in the decisions.
