CEI uses state-of-the-art engineering software for calculations and computer-aided drafting design.  AutoCAD 2005/Land Desktop (as well as r14 and 2000), Microstation and Softdesk 8 ancillary software provide the basis for our design production.  We are able to produce automated contouring, earthwork quantities, roadway and site design, and utility design through our programs.

• On virtually every project taken on by Coyle Engineering, Inc. (CEI), our computer technicians use Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to generate project drawings.  Digital aerial topographic surveys, GPS boundary surveys, digitized USGS maps, and similar items are enhanced by field surveys to create base sheets from which site construction documents and other designs are produced.
• CEI uses a variety of computer programs for design and analysis.  Software from the Hydraulic Engineering Center (HEC) such as HEC-1, HEC-2, and HEC-RAS are used for flow routing and water surface elevation modeling.  We use InteliSolve Hydraflow Hydrographs and POND-2  for runoff detention systems.  KYPipe and WaterCAD are utilized for pressure pipe systems; StormCAD and WinStorm are used for drainage systems.  Hydrology calculations are aided with TR-20, Win TR-55, and other hydrology calculators.  We find many solutions to a variety of engineering problems using Hahn House software, as well as in-house proprietary programs.
• CEI uses an integrated computer system of IBM compatible microcomputers with Pentium III or faster processors and Windows XP Professional operating systems for the activities of the firm.  Ancillary equipment includes scanners, ink jet printers, 100 and 250 MG Zip, CD burners, Oce 7055 large format reproduction machine, color and b/w copiers, and HP ink jet plotters. The combination of these systems allow us to complete end products for all reports and construction documents in-house.
• CEI produces its own documents, photos, and graphics for use in reports, WPAPs, SWPPPs, specifications manuals, SF 254/255, State, and Municipal-level submittals, advertisements, and all other publications using Adobe Pagemaker 7, Adobe Photoshop 7, Microsoft Word, Works, and Excel, plus digital cameras and other imaging programs.  
• Files may be delivered or accepted on 100 MB Zip disks, 250 MB disks, on CD-R or CR-RW format, or on regular 3.5" floppy disk. Files are also accepted electronically through e-mail or through the “Client Login” page on our website. CEI is constantly connected to e-mail and internet with DSL high speed technology.
